In Economics today we were talking about Britain’s exports and discussed what it is we actually produce, the answer was: not a lot. We obviously produce and export our own food, but we as a nation aren’t known as great producers, we buy a lot of our stuff in from other countries (‘Made In China’) – and so in conclusion we gathered that we export a lot of Rolls Royce engines and a lot of pharmaceutical goods; I then had an epiphany, I turned round and said: ‘but we make bloody good music’. And we do, our nation has created some of the best music in the history of sound – not only that but we’ve exported it around the world; Yes, we the chivalrous, tea-sipping, cockney-rhyming British have had the decency to share it with the rest of the world. Since The Beatles graced the Yankee shores, British music has been the most demanded music worldwide, and by golly we are more than willing to supply it. So Americans, you can keep your oil, Germans you can keep your automobiles, Columbia you can keep your cocai…no, wait…
