Me and Ed went to London on Friday which was a right laugh, waltzed through Leicester/Trafalgar Square, got hounded by a slightly attractive Red Cross volunteer until we told her we were underage, so she had no chance of signing us up, but we had no chance with her neither haha. Caught the tube down to Camden, had a wonder round the market, stumbled across a Banksy piece*, looked in various record stalls, etc. A well known experience in Camden is being asked if you want some ‘skunk’, however none of the locals offered it to me – we then decided that with my current image I look like a dealer myself (charming), this was then proved when the bouncer at the Brixton Academy double frisked me and asked if I had any weed on me. Not Cool. We left Camden after a while because it was busy (Camden Crawl this weekend), and we both got tired of pointing at the most pretentious people we could find.
The Hives were quality live, they don’t have strong songs like other bands, but they are such great performers it made up for it.
*For future reference if you come out of the Camden tube station, walk alllllll the way down Camden High Street and then take a right up a hill, its on the corner.
